THE GODDESS TEST by Aimee Carter

Goodreads Blurb:

It’s always been just Kate and her mom–and now her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate’s going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won’t live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld–and if she accepts his bargain, he’ll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he’s crazy–until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she’ll become Henry’s future bride, and a goddess.

If she fails…

NYIA's TEEN BOOK REVIEWERS TWO CENTS

I liked Kate the main character. She started off shy and afraid to meet people since she'd been taking care of her sick mother. But then after her stupid friend set her up she didn't think about what scared her, she saved her friend. I liked the way the author, Aimee Carter made Kate realistic. She didn't believe in Greek gods and she didn't always make the right choices. I really enjoyed this book, there was always something happening and people in the book were believable. I give this book a 5 out of 5 Scepters!

  6. I read your review, then your first comment and thought...huh? did you want us to answer who we are besides a blogger? If so....

I'm a grandmother of two - weekend babysitter/abused grandma (lol) who also gets lots of love from these crazed grandchildren

mother of four grown halfway reasonably happy adults, who are pretty caring people (mostly - they all have their moments)

program supervisor of an afterschool program who would rather be in the trenches with the daily interactions of students, then sitting in an office doing "paperwork" for hours ....so I end up doing my paperwork at home at 2a.m. But I get lots of joy from the students...

reader of books - love to read. Love to read and yet can't seem to read more than one book a week anymore...

This book (The Goddess Test) looks very interesting - I'm not a big fan of YA, but I've been reading a bit (like the Pack!) and enjoying them.
