FAST FIVE - Movie Review

FANDANGO BLURB:

Director Justin Lin (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious) returns to the helm for this adrenaline-charged sequel reuniting series stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker for their biggest thrill ride yet. With the police in hot pursuit and wanted fugitive Dom (Diesel) in tow, Brian (Walker) and Mia (Jordana Brewster) make their way to Rio, and realize they've run out of luck. In order to earn their freedom, they'll have to pull off their biggest job yet. After assembling a crack team of the top racers in Brazil, the gang prepares to confront the crooked businessman who seeks to silence them forever. Meanwhile, unstoppable federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) has assembled his own team, an intimidating group of top cops whose sole mission is to capture Dom, Brian, and Mia by whatever means possible. But as the race heats up, Hobbs loses his ability to tell the good guys from the bad guys. Now, in order to prevent the lawless trio from being turned into roadkill before he can arrest them, Luke puts his pedal to the metal, and begins to rely more on his killer instinct than his police training

MY REVIEW:
Okay, I’m just gonna say it. Yep, right now. TESTOSTERONE overload. I literally swooned with all the action, fast cars, gorgeous guys – I mean there were a lot of guys to chose from and I fell in love with them all. The twist in the heist, goofball macho comedy lines, the downing of the bad guy, the turning of the good guy to bad all made for a high action – full throttle action flick. I mean they threw everything but the kitchen sink in this one. They even had great female characters that had spunk and skill when it came to the ultimate job. I give this one a 4 out of 5 hotties. I took off one point simply because I would have liked just a little more female in your face action (hey, that’s the girl power in me talking).

Oh, and by the way - My husband Loved it! Said it was the best action flick he'd seen in over a month.

GORGEOUS GUYS

I have to agree with you, there weren't any drawbacks or regrets in this movie. 'Good from beginning to end'. I am going to get your books one these days.

I'm glad you loved the movie too!
Oh thanks for your support :-D If you have a ebook reader the e-book versions are on sale for $0.99 for The Pack and $2.99 for Bandits (on smashwords).

Hmm, neither my husband nor I really liked The Fast and the Furious. I'm not sure this is the movie for us, but good review.

I loved it too!!!! I've never been the biggest fan of the past movies - didn't even watch the last three but my hubby forced me. I'm so glad he did. I could live off the adrenaline from that for a month!

"TESTOSTERONE overload."
Well said, and easy to watch! lol How can you go wrong watching muscular men duking it out, and firing guns? Gurr...lol

Oh yea. Fast cars. Vin Diesel. I'm all over it.

Yeah, it could be an off movie if you want real plot and substance. But if you want non stop action, corney macho lines, some laughs and great eye candy, than it's the movie for you. It's like riding a coaster that goes full speed.

Testosterone overload, you said it! I do find Van Diesel curiously attractive, but...
Fast-paced thrillers are more my realm of guy-flicks.
I do like the auto show though. Just posted about the NYC one, including my fave new cars on my blog, if you want to come visit!

Haha! Same here, I even find Vin Diesel way attractive than Paul Walker. I'm so glad to see the team back.

I know what you mean, LM. Countless car movies have been made, but there aren't enough women in them. And if there are, they're not at the forefront of the film. But I think that's not that big of a deal, so I hope you reconsider and give Fast Five a rating of 4.5 instead. Your husband enjoyed it after all! ;)
